*DEFINE Office Management Authorizations
Office Management is the organizational structure in *DEFINE. An office consists of a group of people (assigned to desks) and units (grouped into views). An office has one office manager and up to two delegates (assistants). Office Management authorizations allow users assigned as office managers or delegates to make changes to electronic offices, including setting up or changing routing, assigning users to desks, creating desks, creating views, and updating authorizations. Office managers are able to update the authorized electronic signers in an office; delegates cannot.
An office receives control of a unit from a unit head and provides administrative support for the accounts in the units assigned to it. You can access this page from the *DEFINE system link located on the Employee Authorizations page.
The screen below lists the Office Manager, Campus, and employee Authorization for various *DEFINE Office applications.
- The column titled *DEFINE Office refers to the electronic desk that managers and delegates use to maintain authorizations and routing.
- The Office Manager column identifies the individual who has administrative oversight of the office.
- Campus refers to the nine academic institutions that comprise The University of Texas System. Each has an assigned code.
- The Authorization column indicates whether the user is an Office Manager or Delegate for the specified *DEFINE Office.
- If the user has a large number of authorizations, a button may appear at the bottom of the screen. Click the button to view additional entries.
- Use the right-hand scroll bar as needed to view additional entries and the up/down arrows to reverse the order of displayed data.
- To remove an authorization, click the Request Removal link; notifications will immediately be sent to all owners of the related authorization, informing them of the action.
